NAEA Fly-in Day

Each year, NAEA hosts a Fly-in Day as a means for our members to meet with their elected representatives to discuss important issues that affect the business and practice of enrolled agents. Our Fly-in is an opportunity for the EA community to join together and:

  • Campaign personally for issues of interest to all EAs.
  • Raise our profile with legislative decision-makers.
  • Gain first-hand knowledge of public advocacy.

Each Fly-in Day includes:

  • Advocacy training and a briefing on NAEA’s public policy agenda.
  • Personal meetings with congressional staff and Members of Congress.
  • A debriefing reception and an opportunity to network with other NAEA members.

This year's Fly-in Day is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Fly-in advocacy training will take place on Tuesday, May 16, at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City.

Wednesday, May 17

  • Group meet-up
  • Personal meetings with congressional staff and Members of Congress (dependent on office schedule)
  • Open bar reception with hors d'oeuvres and a debriefing with a special guest speaker

 

Registration and Scheduling

If you are an EA in good standing and you would like to attend this year's Fly-in, please submit your application to participate by March 20. You can expect to receive a confirmation email by March 22nd on whether you have been approved to participate in this year's Fly-in advocacy activities.

We want to make sure we have room for everyone. But to ensure a smooth event, walk-ins will not be accepted. Please do not book flights or make hotel reservations until your application has been accepted and you have been confirmed in writing as a 2017 NAEA Fly-in advocate. We will promptly review and process applications in order to assist our members with making timely travel arrangements.

To defray some of the costs for this year's events, we are asking Fly-in registrants to pay a $25.00 application fee. This fee is refundable if cancellations are made prior to April 23.

While only Regular NAEA members (members with active EA licenses) may participate in the legislative meetings, NAEA Associate members and non-member spouses or companions are welcome to attend the Fly-in Day reception for $25.00. Any Associate members who have participated in prior NAEA Fly-ins will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis if they wish to apply to participate in this year's Fly-in.

While many of you may use your business address for NAEA purposes, please include only your home address on your Fly-in application. NAEA needs your home address to schedule your congressional meetings with your elected representatives. You vote based on your home address, not your office address.
