Washington, D.C. – (May 20, 2016) The Oklahoma Society of Enrolled Agents (OSEA) is pleased to announce the formation of the Northeastern Oklahoma Chapter. Mike Glass, EA, will serve as the president of the chapter in its inaugural year. Glass has previously worked for the IRS in the Criminal Investigation division.
The Oklahoma Society of Enrolled Agents is one of thirty-nine affiliates that make up and support the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA). NAEA works on behalf of nearly 50,000 enrolled agents (EAs), licensed tax professionals who have earned a highly sought after credential overseen by the IRS. EAs have demonstrated technical competence in tax law and are licensed to practice by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. NAEA members belong to a strong network of experienced, well-trained tax professionals who effectively represent their clients and work to make the tax code fair and reasonably enforced – they’re “America’s Tax Experts!®”
Cecelia Bowers, EA, was a driving force in the creation of the chapter. “It is critical that EAs stay connected locally,” she says. In her experience, she has benefited greatly from networking with local colleagues. It allows her to discuss client cases, build relationships for referrals, and interact with younger EAs just starting out in their careers. She hopes that EAs in the Tulsa area will join the chapter and connect with their professional peers.
Bowers is organizing a Meet and Greet for those interested in joining the chapter. It will be held June 16, 2016, at a location that is yet to be determined. If you are a tax professional interested in attending this event and learning more about the chapter and OSEA, please contact Bowers at her office at (918) 587-6359.
