WASHINGTON, DC—July 19, 2016 The National Association of Enrolled Agents announced today that Northeastern State University in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma will present a Special Enrollment Exam prep course during its Fall semester. The Special Enrollment Exam (or “SEE”) is the three-part exam the IRS requires to earn the enrolled agent (“EA”) license. Enrolled agent is the most expansive credential the IRS awards and includes the right to represent taxpayers before the IRS for audits, collections and appeals.
“We are thrilled that NSU’s Broken Arrow campus has signed on to help students pass the EA exam,” said Jean Nelsen, EA, Chair of the Educating America Task Force of the National Association of Enrolled Agents. “So many students are unaware that becoming an enrolled agent gives them flexibility in their careers. Since EAs receive their licenses from the federal government, as oppose to the states as do CPAs and attorneys, they can practice anywhere in the US without being required to take additional testing. They can find work in public accounting firms, law firms, corporate accounting departments, state departments of revenue, investment firms, banks and in private practice. It’s a great career choice with no state lines, no country borders.”
Class orientation will be held Monday, August 22 and classes will be held on Saturdays through December 3. If you or someone you know is interested in registering for this course or needs more information, contact Mike Pugliese at email@example.com.
About Enrolled Agents
Enrolled agents (EAs) are America’s tax experts®. They are the only federally-licensed tax practitioners who specialize in taxation and also have unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS. While attorneys and certified public accountants are also licensed, only enrolled agents specialize exclusively in taxes. Find an enrolled agent in your area on the directory at taxexperts.naea.org.
The National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) is the professional society that provides enrolled agents, with resources, education and networking and represents their interests to government, business and the general public. .
