NAEA President Terry Durkin, EA sent a letter to IRS Return Preparer Office Director Carol Campbell requesting that the agency provide NAEA with additional details explaining the costs involved when IRS administers the Enrolled Agent Special Enrollment Examination (EA-SEE). NAEA drafted the letter in response to the agency’s proposed increase in user fees for administering each of the three parts of the SEE. In the January 26 issue of the Federal Register, IRS proposed increasing the user fees from $11 to $99 for each of the three parts of the SEE.
