Known as one of the premier educational opportunity in tax education, the NAEA National Conference brings together all three levels of its National Tax Practice Institute, the Tax Preparation Issues Track and the Graduate Level in Representation content one roof. This signature event takes place in August each year and continues to grow in popularity among tax practitioners seeking tp advance their knowledge and careers as well as the operation of their tax practices. There is no greater value in tax education.
NTPI is a three-level program developed to sharpen the skills of enrolled practitioners at all stages of their careers. With each level of this program, the core curriculum enables participants to expand their knowledge and skills, and gain the confidence needed to successfully guide their clients through the often challenging maze of IRS codes, internal regulations, and agency structure. NTPI is offered twice a year, in August at the National Conference and in the fall at NTPI ORL. In addition, NTPI Level 1 (only) is available online.
Schuldiner/Smollan Leadership Academy (SSLA)
The Leadership Academy trains volunteers for success as leaders of NAEA at the local chapter, state affiliate, and national level. The design of the program provides organizational training to volunteers to assist their efforts at the chapter, affiliate, and national levels. Limited enrollment of 15-20 attendees is purposefully maintained during each session to ensure each attendee receives the type of care and attention to ensure success. In two days, the program teaches some of the following topics in a classroom environment:
- Governance and Board
- Strategic Planning
- Successful Board Meetings
- Financial Oversight
- The Future of NAEA
In addition to expert instruction, attendees break out in to smaller groups for a series of practical exercises that replicate real life situations including a mock Board meeting. Following completion of the program, attendees select a project to complete at their affiliate or chapter.
