Aaron Blau, EA, CPA is a Tempe, Ariz. based certified public accountant and enrolled agent whose medium-sized practice focuses on small, closely held companies and individual income tax preparation. LG Brooks, EA, is a senior consultant at The Tax Practice, Inc., a representation firm in Dallas, Texas. He has been in the field of taxation for more than twenty-five years and has been in practice full-time since 1990. Brooks’ areas of practice include tax representation, tax consulting, tax preparation and pre-Tax Court litigation support services. Brooks received a BA from Bishop College in Dallas. A popular speaker, he presents to numerous tax and accounting societies and has addressed attendees at several annual IRS Tax Forums. Frank Degen, EA, USTCP
Frank Degen, EA, USTCP, is an NTPI Fellow™ and a non-attorney admitted to practice in the United States Tax Court. He has served twice as NAEA President and has spoken frequently at the IRS Tax Forums, NTPI®, AATP and many NAEA affiliate seminars. He served as chair of the IRS Advisory Council (IRSAC) in 2009. He practices as a sole-proprietor in Setauket, New York. Degen has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Iona College and a master’s from Johns Hopkins University. Frank is an NTPI® Level 1, Level 3, Graduate Level, and Tax Preparation Issues instructor, as well as a Level 2 discussion leader.
Robert McKenzie, EA, JD
Robert E. McKenzie, EA, JD, is a partner of the law firm of Arnstein & Lehr LLP of Chicago, Ill. He has lectured extensively on the subject of tax representation and has presented courses nationwide before thousands of CPAs, attorneys, and enrolled agents. McKenzie has made numerous media appearances and is the author of several publications. Prior to entering private practice, McKenzie was employed by the IRS, Collection Division, in Chicago. He has served as a member of the IRS Advisory Council (IRSAC), was vice chair of professional services for the ABA Tax Section, and dean of the National Tax Practice Institute™. McKenzie received his JD with High Honors from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago Kent College of Law. McKenzie is an NTPI® Level 1, 3 and Graduate Level in Representation instructor.
David F. Miles, EA
David F. Miles, EA, is a consultant with 20/20 Tax Resolution, Inc., with more than sixteen years of tax resolution experience. He works nationally as a taxpayer representative, focusing on state and IRS collections. David holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Vermont. He is an active tax educator, most recently partnering with nationally recognized payroll provider ADP for an education seminar. He has been interviewed relating to a range of tax topics for various news articles and television, was a panelist on “Tax Talk Today” in November 2012, and has been a contributor to the EA Journal. David is back this year to instruct NTPI® Level 1 and the Graduate Level in Representation, as well as serve as a discussion leader for NTPI® Level 2.
Bill Nemeth, EA
Bill Nemeth, EA, is the immediate past president of the Georgia Association of Enrolled Agents (GAEA) and a founding member of the GAEA Education Foundation. He is currently the GAEA Membership Chair and the Education Chair. He is active at the national level as well as an Affiliate Council Member of NAEA. He holds a bachelor’s degree (Kettering Institute), a master’s degree (MIT) in Mechanical Engineering, and an MBA in Marketing (Wayne State University). He worked with Prometric as an SME (Tax Subject Matter Expert) on the development of the IRS Preparer Gateway test, the RTRP (Registered Tax Return Preparer) exam. Bill and his wife, Merry Brodie, enrolled agents, recently sold their franchise tax business which prepares up to 12,000 returns per year. Bill is a Level 1 instructor and serves as the chair of the Tax Preparation Issues committee.
Alan Pinck, EA
Alan Pinck, EA, is currently the chair of the NAEA Education Committee and has previously held board positions including president of the Mission Society of Enrolled Agents. He has taught at the CSEA Super Seminar and teaches a Part 2 SEE preparation class. Pinck’s practice in the San Francisco Bay area specializes in personal and business tax return preparation, as well as audit representation. Pinck serves as an NTPI® Level 1, 2 and Graduate Level in Representation instructor. Jeffrey A. Schneider, EA Jeffrey A. Schneider, EA, is the principal in SFS Tax, Accounting and College Planning Services. He has been an enrolled agent since 2005. Schneider has been in the field of taxation for more than thirty years, working for multi-national companies. He has been in private practice since 1999. Schneider is a past FSEA president, a current member of NAEA’s National Board of Directors, and also serves on the NTPI® Planning Committee. He attained a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics MST from Long Island University. Schneider is an adjunct professor at Palm Beach State College, teaching individual taxes. He was a featured author for the Treasure Coast Business Journal, the National Association of Tax Professionals, and other publications. He is an NTPI Fellow™ and an NTPI® Level 1 instructor. Sherrill Trovato, EA, USTCP Sherrill Trovato, EA, USTCP, MBA, MST's Southern California firm specializes in tax prep and controversy representation. She developed a prep course for practitioners seeking admission to the Tax Court bar as a non attorney; since 2002 more than 85% of those passing the exam were her students. She is a past president of NAEA, an NTPI Fellow™, and an NTPI® instructor. Trovato teaches in the NTPI Levels 1, 3 and Graduate Level.
