NYSSEA leadership wants to provide an early “heads-up” on the OBBBA provisions and content to help its members and friends advise clients and prepare for the 2026 filing season. NOTE: This special session is in addition to our annual Federal Tax Update on January 7, 2026.

Topics will include the extension, modification, and enhancement of provisions formerly found in TCJA. The rules for new IRC sections dealing with “no-tax” on tips, overtime, car loan interest, and the new senior deduction exemption will be thoroughly discussed. The new Trump accounts, the new administrative rules for information returns, and the expansion of the need to include Social Security numbers will also be covered.
