NAEA National Conference 2018 in Las Vegas was one of the largest and most successful events NAEA had in years. Close to 700 attendees joined us for three days of best-in-class continuing tax education featuring the top instructors in the business. The classes were offered through the National Tax Practice Institute™, a three-level education program that covers all facets of representing clients before the IRS, and the Tax Preparation Issues and Graduate Level in Representation Tracks. This year also saw the implementation of the Choose Your Own Adventure track, which allows attendees to build a custom education track to fit their practice.

Guests were treated to a welcome reception in the exhibit hall Monday night followed by an open and engaging plenary address from Nina Olson, the National Taxpayer Advocate. Ms. Olson was kind and conversational, engaging in an in-depth Q&A session with NAEA members immediately following her remarks.

The NAEA annual meeting on Tuesday night gave members the opportunity to watch, listen and make their own voices heard on discussions affecting the present and future of the organization. Over 100 members attended the meeting and offered their input directly to the board of directors.

The NTPI Graduation & NAEA Awards Ceremony, held Wednesday evening, was perhaps the highlight of the week. Eight richly deserving members were presented with NAEA Awards and thanked for their significant contributions to the association and the enrolled agent profession (you can read the press release here). Honored that evening were:

Then it was time to honor the newest crop of NTPI Fellows®, roughly 100 individuals who just completed the three levels of the National Tax Practice Institute™ (click here to purchase photos from the graduation ceremony and you can tag yourself or your friends in the Facebook album here). NAEA once again streamed the awards and graduation ceremony, setting a new viewing record (to date) at 3,160 video views. You can watch the archived stream here.

Members shared their own moments at National Conference through the Whoova conference app, documenting their experience learning and networking with colleagues. Take a peek at the Facebook album to see the 2018 National Conference from the members' point of view.

Thank you to all who helped to make the conference so memorable and successful.
