Enrolled agents are America’s tax experts and hold the IRS’s highest credential. The demand for EAs is high and the future is bright, potentially lucrative, and highly flexible—and you can become an EA without a college degree.

The NAEA Education Foundation (NAEA-EF), established in 1972, is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization, dedicated to helping aspiring enrolled agents reach their goal by providing scholarships to prepare for the Special Enrollment Examination. Beyond that, we have a mission to assist enrolled agents and other Circular 230 licensed tax practitioners maintain their high quality professional standing. The NAEA-EF works collaboratively with NAEA in order to offer scholarships making it more convenient for independent practitioners to take the CE credits required by the IRS and maintain the license governed by Circular 230. The National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) is fighting to protect your livelihood and defend your right as an enrolled agent to provide services to U.S. taxpayers wherever they may be located, within or outside the United States. Recent efforts to cripple EA practice rights in Nevada and New York failed. Now, Minnesota has passed Statute 332B, which requires enrolled agents who provide debt settlement services to pay costly and burdensome state registration fees and to disclose detailed taxpayer information to the Minnesota Department of Commerce.
