Louisiana Society of Enrolled Agents (LSEA) Submit Comment Letter on LA SB 238, Enjoining Preparers Who Engage in Certain Conduct

On March 12, 2018, Louisiana Society of Enrolled Agents’ (LSEA) President Linda Sandidge, EA submitted comments to the Louisiana Senate Committee on Revenue and Fiscal Affairs on SB 238, a bill that would, among other changes:

• Authorize the Louisiana Secretary of Revenue to bring suit to enjoin return preparers who engage in certain conduct;
• Provide a list of the conduct that may be enjoined; and
• Authorize the enjoining of preparers who engage in prohibited conduct from preparing returns for taxpayers in the state of Louisiana.
